Meet Amber Van Fossen, MS, LPC (she/hers)
I am passionate about what I do and have been compelled to work in this field in one capacity or another since 2002.
I have had the privilege of working with kids, couples, co-parents, families, and individual adults and teens throughout my career. I use a non-judgemental, person-centered, and strength-based approach to services in a culturally competent way. I believe we all walk through “ick” sometimes, but you don’t have to walk through it alone and when things get hard that is what we are here for. To help, understand, problem-solve, or just listen.
I believe a quote by Maya Angelou sums it up best when she wrote “My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to THRIVE; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.”

My approach to working with children can be described as engaging. Children are often able to process better when they are able to move or play or create and I strive to create an environment for kids that allows them to feel safe and to explore the many complex feelings they are learning to navigate.
With adult clients I would describe my work as supportive and curious. I believe you are the expert on your own life and/or family and our own personal experiences can influence how we process and interact with the world around us. I am here to support you and collaborate with you, to achieve whatever goals you have to strengthen your relationships (with others or yourself), enhance communication and coping strategies, and improve your daily functioning and emotional and mental wellbeing.
To schedule an appointment with Amber, contact us or give us a call at 608-886-9595 to get started.
