Meet Jennifer Wangerin, LPC (she/hers)

Jennifer will be accepting clients starting April 1, 2025. Contact us to get added to her waiting list.

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 15 years of experience, specializing in trauma and child therapy.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Human Development from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and a master’s degree in Counseling from Marquette University.

My journey into this field began with a deep passion for helping children and families. It all started when I worked as a preschool teacher, and that passion grew even stronger through my experience providing in-home therapy in Milwaukee. Over the years, I’ve worn many hats, from Director of Child and Adolescent Services at a rural mental health center to mental health consultant for Head Start Preschools. One of the highlights of my career was leading the development of a community child trauma program at a Madison community mental health organization.

Jennifer Wangerin, LPC, therapist for children in Madison, WI

I draw from a variety of evidence-based practices, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Child-Parent Psychotherapy, Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, parenting skills training, and play therapies, to best support my clients. I’m known for creating a warm, engaging environment where people feel comfortable and understood.

While my heart is deeply invested in working with children, I also find joy in helping adults navigate challenges like anxiety, depression, and major life transitions. I’m pretty straightforward and down-to-earth in my approach, which helps me build strong partnerships with my clients and support them in making lasting changes.

When I’m not working, you’ll likely find me out for a run or spending quality time with my family. I find that balance is key to staying grounded in both my personal and professional life. It’s my genuine desire to be a trusted guide for anyone navigating life’s tough moments, and I’m honored to be part of their journey toward healing and growth.
