Meet Sara Kind, LPC, LMFT, PMH-C (she/hers)
I find so much joy in connecting with clients and supporting people on their own unique path towards healing and growth.
I’ve been working as a marriage and family therapist for over 12 years, with experience in a variety of settings. I’ve had the opportunity to work in non-profit crisis environments, provide intensive in-home therapy for children and families, supervise trauma treatment groups in Dane County schools, and offer therapy in outpatient clinics as well as private practice. Throughout my career, I’ve developed a strong understanding of the mental health resources and systems in Dane County, which allows me to better support the people I work with.
I started Kind Therapy in January 2015 with the goal of creating a warm, personalized environment where individuals, couples, and families can receive the care they need. I’m passionate about offering a safe and inclusive space where everyone feels welcome, heard, and supported as they work through life’s challenges.
Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, or perinatal mental health concerns, I use evidence-based techniques that are tailored to your unique needs. I love working with people of all ages and believe that taking a systems-based approach—looking at how relationships and environments influence current struggles—is key to meaningful change. I also lean on attachment and polyvagal theories to help you look beyond the current symptoms you’re experiencing and develop a deeper understanding of how patterns have developed to help you adapt and respond to the stressors you have faced. I’m trained in EMDR and specialize in perinatal mental health, as well as working with couples and children.
My goal is always to walk alongside you in your journey toward healing, offering support and guidance along the way. I am energized by my work and feel inspired every day by my client’s stories of resilience and strength. I look forward to connecting with you about your needs and goals.

On a more personal note…
I enjoy spending my non-working hours with my family. I am happily married to my husband and I’m a proud mama to two children.
I feel most grounded when I am in nature, and I make it a priority to spend time outside everyday, regardless of the weather. I can often be found exploring local hiking trails, camping in Wisconsin State Parks, snowshoeing in the winter, gardening, cooking, and visiting local restaurants.
I love travel and visiting different states and countries whenever I have the opportunity.
